Background: Has worked in various phases of real estate sales and development since 1965 having been employed with Martin Lumber Company, Inc., for 20 years.  Has owned and operated First Toccoa Real Estate since 1985 dealing with sales and management.

Education: Graduated from Toccoa High School and Emmanuel College.

Previous political experience: First term served (2008) on the Toccoa City Commission was initial political position.

Education: Graduated from Toccoa Falls College. 

Previous policital experience: Served as a city commissioner since 1999; appointed Mayor of Toccoa in 2007; was a member and chairman of the Toccoa Planning Commission from 1996-2000. 

Term expires on 2012.

Education: Earned his bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from Brenau University.

Commissioner Ron Seib, began his term in 2007, replacing former Commissioner Billy Chism.

Background: Currently serving as a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones Investments and has twenty years of business experience; resident of Toccoa since 1983; married for 22 years to his wife, Ellen, and has three children.

Education: Graduated from University of Georgia with a degree in Business Finance; earned from Brenau University.his master’s degree with an emphasis in Financial Management.

Previous political experience: His first term (2007) on the Toccoa City Commision was initial politiacal position.

Commissioner Bob Troup

Background: Worked in private business for 50 years as a portrait studio owner; currently employed with Hammock Realty.

Education: Graduated from of Toccoa High School and earned his bachelors degree from the University of Georgia.

Previous political experience: Served previous term on the Toccoa City Commission; held a seat on the Downtown Development Authority, and held a seat on the city’s Alcohol Beverage Control Board.

Chief of Police Jackie Whitmire

A 1967 graduate of Toccoa High School, Whitmire has served with the Toccoa Police Department since 1977.  He has held a variety of positions, including patrolman, detective and chief.  He holds a master’s degree in criminal justice and has served as an instructor in the Georgia Police Academy.  Whitmire has served at police chief since December 2004.  He previously served as chief in the 1990s.

Fire Chief Tommy Ayers

A lifelong resident of Stephens County, Ayers joined Toccoa Fire Department in 1978 and has served the community for 30 years.  He began as a firefighter and worked his wasy up through the ranks, becoming chief in 2007.  Ayers received his training and certifications throught the Publice Safety Training Center in Forsyth.
