Family Owned Since 1927
After Julie and I decorated The Welcome Center for Christmas a sense of nostalgia and family filled the air and that feeling of heritage rolled right into my interview with Brent and Donna at Acree Oil Company.
Following Brent down the hallway to the conference room was like walking through a photo album proudly displaying four generations of a family owned business. Acree Oil was founded in 1927 by Mr. Bob and Mrs. Sadie Acree.
Brent has been with Acree Oil since 2013 and he loves the relationship he has built while serving the factories, farmers, and construction companies of Toccoa-Stephens County.

Some of you may know that I recently purchased the home of Richard and Emily Acree. This renovation project has a new sense of meaning after sitting with Donna (she has been with Acree Oil for 21 years) and going through the Acree photo albums. My husband and I are bringing the Acree’s mid-century home back to life and if walls could talk I believe they would have many family oriented stories to tell. I could picture Mr. Acree checking for not one but three newspapers that would come to the Rosedale Street House. Sipping his coffee and preparing for a day at Acree Oil while his daughter Rebecca played.
We had this rendering made at Troup’s to put on the wall when our home is complete. This will remind us of the home’s history and to appreciate each season of life we are in.
On my way out of the interview I was greeted by Ben. He is Guard Cat and has been around for almost 12 years…I would say he is a bit spoiled but he sure is sweet.
