Thankful Thursday- Bill Wheeler

hos·pi·tal·i·ty

/ˌhäspəˈtalədē/

noun

  1. the friendly and generous reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or strangers.

We were shocked that Bill Wheeler’s photo was not next to the word Hospitality when we Googled it! Bill has worked in the hospitality industry for a few (cough-cough) years. He started serving our community as Director at the Georgia Baptist Conference Center in 1996 and has been a Rockstar Chamber Investor ever since! Bill is one of only two individuals chosen to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors in non-consecutive terms.

In December of 2020 Bill retired from Georgia Baptist Conference Center completing his service as Past Board Chair of the Chamber. Bill and his wife Ellen loved raising their family in Toccoa-Stephens County. They are the proud parents of Will, Mary Lovett, and Bo. As Bill and Ellen begin a new chapter in life, their daughter, Mary Lovett and her husband Brad Anderson, have moved back to Toccoa. Mary Lovett is a new NP in the Pediatrics Department at NGPG Toccoa Clinic.

We are grateful for Bill, his words of wisdom, his dedication, his fun-loving spirit, and his kind heart!
